Oh snap, I guess Anne really is still mad about that. Get over it, girl. We all have our loses—some move on and others complain about it – for years. But credit where credit is due, I do agree with you on one thing: shutting down the libraries.

I mean, really—what do we even need them for? You can get a little wiz-bang e-book device from Big Box Books, and just like that, every book in the world is right in your hot little wing. No dusty old shelves, no cranky librarians telling you to “shush,” and best of all? You don’t even have to leave the cage.

But let’s talk about the real reason these devices are a must-have—they are excellent babysitters. When my precious little grandbirds come over, do you think I’m spending my day entertaining them? Oh no, honey, I give them biscuits and a screen.

Once their bellies are full, their minds go mush. And that little zombie stare they get? It’s oh so precious. It’s like they’re not even here. Sometimes, I even sneak out for a pedicure or go shopping. And when I get back? They are right here, where I left them.

So let’s be real—do we even need books anymore? Reading is kinda optional. It’s time consuming. It’s boooring. And reading might make you think. Nobody wants that.

Which is why you have us at The Parrot News: Sit back, listen and most of all repeat. Because repetition is what it takes to be informed in today’s world.

But, sorry, I digress.
